ArmorSeal is a three layer system that protects fuel or chemical containers from leaks and fires caused by bullets or bomb fragments.
The multi-layered approach of ArmorSeal is very important to the containment of fuel in the tank. ArmorSeal acts as a compression bandage — When the metal housing is penetrated, the first layer (which is adhered to the aluminum or steel) will not allow seepage behind the coating. Next, the center layer expands and fills the void, while the outer layer stretches and contracts to hold the pressure in.
An ArmorSealed tank shot with a .30 caliber, .50 caliber or an AK-47 bullet will only show a small pin hole on the outside layer; there is no leakage of fuel.
